Who would ever think we'd be talking about Poinsettia plants on Mother's Day?????
Well I am. Yes, I bought this plant at Christmas and cannot believe it is still blooming on Mother's Day!!!
Yes, it sits in a window. Sunny most of the day. Direct sun only in the early morning. The same one all the others have over the years and they never lasted past New Years.
So, what's what's different this year?
I did NOT remove the fallen leaves. I use to be an eager beaver and keep all the fallen leaves out of the pot. This year I didn't have the energy. I left them where they fell in the pot. I believe they gave the plant the nutrition it needed during the gloomy and cold winter.
I also stopped watering every week and only gave it an 8 oz glass of water every 2 weeks. I might have forgotten occasionally and gone longer.
Almost all the leaves have turned red. So wondering how much longer I'll be able to enjoy it. But for now it is a bright spot for Mother's Day.
