You need to read this report on Dr.
Oz and ask more questions of your doctor and your pharmacists then make
your own choices. Excellent information for the consumer and you know my
opinion; each and every one of us must become a more savvy consumer. We are the
only ones responsible for our own good health and that of our families.
Personally I was very disappointed when I went to the Consumer Labs site, referenced in the article. The free 24-hr pass they offered on supplements only gave the results for the 40 multi-vitamin supplements they tested. Since I do not take a multi-vitamin, I have a bad reaction to B-vitamins, the information was not valuable and when I wanted to check their list of magnesium products it required a $50 membership. Even after you pay the fee you have no way of knowing if in fact they have tested the product you want to look up.
And, since I am a very important part of only 10% of our population who over the age of 60 does not take prescription drugs, I had nothing to look up. However, having said that if I were on any prescription drugs I think it might be worth the investment.
