Natasha Turner ND, good short video for brief description of The Hormone Diet.
Take the test to see if your hormones are out of balance -- You'll have to watch the video or buy the book, because it is not available in a written format online.
YOU can reset your own body's hormones with REAL Food to loose weight and feel like a million.
NO drugs needed -- JUST GOOD TASTING HEALTY SATISFYING REAL FOOD.
Miss Turner says insulin is our biggest issue and her food plan makes that a number one priority.
She also says many people, me included, are sensitive to starchy foods. She offers real simple exchanges for these foods to keep your insulin in balance. If you are not sure about your sensitivities simple stop eating them for a few days then add them back one at a time and see how you feel. LISTENING to your own body is the most important thing you can do to improve your health.
She also recommends we eat protein every 3-4 hours. Personally I find smaller meals more often keep me feeling more energized, fuller and a lot happier.
Glad to see she too recommends two WHOLE eggs for breakfast every morning. When I started this good habit I really saw a difference in my weight, my hunger and my feeling of satisfaction. Since I get bored real easy and do NOT like the same thing everyday I offer you a host of variations to your morning scramble.
For my Food Coaching clients I recommend never leaving home in the morning without first having your breakfast AND packing your own healthy lunch, which includes a small DESSERT and TWO health snacks, which may be raw organic nuts, fresh fruit, Lemony Turkey Burgers page 60 Volume 4, with a Baby Bell cheese round, leftover salad or soup (they are not just for lunch), or my favorite dips, from my books with fresh veggies.
Second recommendation: if you didn't have time to eat both your snacks, finish them off on the way home. That way you can stop at the grocery store and NOT be hungry or when you arrive home you have plenty of time to make a big meal before your hunger hits you.
Same with children especially teens give them a BIG healthy snack so they stay satiated until mealtime. And let them get out for some FRESH AIR to burn off that pent-up frustration form a day behind a desk.
Another of Ms. Turner's recommendations is to eat at the same time every day. I agree. You may think that impossible but we all have calendars whether they are the old fashioned paper ones or electronic on your phone or computer. Use them as a friendly reminder to EAT.
She suggests hemp seeds in salads etc, and cinnamon in your coffee. I've been doing that for years - it taste soooooo good. I add it on top of my coffee grinds BEFORE I plug in my stainless steel coffee pot on page 44 in Volume 5.
She recommends FRESH Curry Leaves to be added to salads for weight loss. From the many benefits I found in my research I am going to check our local Indian grocer so I can give them a try.
ONE more -- eliminate ARTIFICIAL sweeteners. They raise your insulin -- so get them out of our system or at the very least minimize their usage. Personally I have switched to honey in my Spoon Chocolate page 47, in Cooking with Judy. I believe the small portions I consume in my cheesecake and ice creams to be minimal and not a concern.
Also available on Dr. Oz a healthy 3 Day Detox with REAL food. This is the best detox I've seen. No harsh chemicals just REAL FOOD.
